Craig Duffy's involvement in St. Louis area's Twin Bridges Hockey Association includes coaching two teams
Webmaster of the Week: February 9-15
Name:
Craig Duffy
Site:
Twin Bridges Lightning
Position:
Webmaster
Background:
A hockey fanatic who grew up in the St. Louis suburb of Florissant, Duffy still plays in St. Louis-area adult leagues a couple of times a week. His time at the rink also includes coaching his sons’ 6U and 8U teams. And Duffy’s involvement in the Twin Bridges Lightning Hockey Association doesn’t stop there. He serves on the association’s board and is also director of the 6U program. His job as an automation engineer requires that he continually learn and master software specific to running machinery, making him a logical choice to run the association’s website.
What he does:
Duffy has been busy building out the Twin Bridges site with content and pages devoted to, among other topics, the association’s various programs, its rules and policies and fundraising opportunities. Duffy set up the association’s preseason and midseason online registrations, built an FAQ page and is working on creating a Dibs session for an upcoming tournament.
Making his mark:
Twin Bridges, which has about 325 players ranging in age from 6 to 18, is based northeast of St. Louis in North St. Louis County and Madison County, Ill., in an area divided by the Mississippi River. The association uses four rinks in the area for practices and games, and its teams regularly travel to more than a dozen more arenas in the St. Louis metro area for games and tournaments. Duffy created a Google map that shows the location of all of the St. Louis area arenas, differentiating the Twin Bridges rinks with stars versus color-coded balloons for the others. He then placed the code for that map on the site’s Rinks page.
