Automation Saves Admin so Much Time She Starts a Part-Time Job

Upon volunteering as an administrator, Liz Darling immediately found herself buried in a tidal wave of paper — registration forms, medical waivers, payment checks, schedules, and rosters.

Liz’s home office — which also served as storage for jerseys and other team apparel — might have been ruled a fire hazard. “It was ridiculous,” says Darling.

“My administrative work for the club literally used to be my full-time job when the kids were at school,” says Darling. “Being able to automate everything from tryouts, to registrations, to payments has been a huge time-saving benefit. I have so much extra time now, I actually started a part-time job.”

The Registration and PowerPay tools were especially helpful to Darling, as the entire signup and payment process now takes place online. The tools allow administrators and coaches to quickly access athlete information and easily create team rosters, while families are able to register their athletes and pay fees online from any device.

Darling required only minimal help learning the SportsEngine platform before she was off and running, and the same goes for her team managers. “I intended to train them,” says Darling. “But they went in and just figured it out by themselves. It’s just so easy to use.”
