The more than 67,000 fans who attended the game were also treated to pop concerts, parachutists and fireworks at the event. It was the largest crowd to see a game in Berlin since the NFL began playing there in 1989. In his just second game as a Viking, Jim McMahon completed 7 of 9 passes, while teammate Charles Evans rushed for a game-high 78 yards en route to being named the game’s MVP. The Vikings built a 17-0 halftime lead over the defending AFC champion Bills by taking advantage of good field position and two turnovers.
