August 3, 2017 Sport: Soccer Brazilian soccer star Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, who’s known simply as Neymar, made history on Aug. 3, 2017, when FC Barcelona transferred the forward to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for a record 222 million euros (approximately $262 million US). PSG, a French club owned by the nation of Qatar, paid the fee in full to release Neymar from his contract, and in turn, signed the forward to a five-year contract worth $350 million.
