One Team The Power of Sports: Tatyana McFadden

Tatyana McFadden was born in St. Petersburg with spina bifida and paralyzed from the waist down. For 6 years, she was without a wheelchair so she taught herself to walk on her hands using her arms and legs. She was enrolled in sports to build her strength and found out that wheelchair racing was the sport for her.

McFadden is now one of the most dominant athletes in the world, with 10 medals in 3 Paralympic Summer games. The success didn't stop there, in 2013, McFadden became the first racer to win all 4 marathons in a single year.
