For 6 years, she was without a wheelchair so she taught herself to walk on her hands using her arms and legs. She was enrolled in sports to build her strength and found out that wheelchair racing was the sport for her. McFadden is now one of the most dominant athletes in the world, with 10 medals in 3 Paralympic Summer games.
